Why these exist
Your Circle only works if what people say about themselves is true and if an introduction is a welcome thing rather than something to be endured. These are the few rules that protect both.
Be who you say you are
Use your own identity. Do not impersonate another person, invent a persona, or run an account on behalf of someone whose involvement you are hiding.
Describe your experience honestly
Write what you have actually lived and done. Do not inflate a role you did not hold, claim an outcome that was not yours, or borrow someone else's experience as your own. Honest experience is the whole basis on which people are surfaced to each other here.
Treat people well
No harassment, intimidation, sexual pressure, or abuse. No discrimination or degrading treatment on the basis of origin, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexuality, disability, age or any comparable characteristic. If someone does not want to continue a conversation, let it end.
No fraud, no selling into the network
No scams, deception for gain, fake opportunities, or financial solicitation dressed up as a connection. No spam, no mass or automated outreach, and no using introductions as a sales channel.
Respect what an introduction is
An introduction opens only because both people chose it. What is shared inside one — contact details, private circumstances, anything said in confidence — stays there. Do not pass it on, publish it, or add it to a list.
Do not harvest the network
No scraping, bulk collection, copying or export of member information, and no automated access. Member profiles are not a database for you to build on.
Do not manipulate standing
Feedback exists to help people find genuinely relevant company. Do not trade, coordinate, buy or retaliate with feedback, and do not attempt to influence another member's standing by any means other than how you actually behaved.
Stay within the law
Nothing illegal, and nothing that uses Your Circle to arrange or facilitate something illegal.
If something is wrong
Tell us at hello@joinyourcircle.com. We read every report. Where these guidelines are broken we may remove content, limit an account, or close it, as set out in the Terms of Service.
